New Zealand's Bilateral Working Holiday Visa Arrangements
New Zealand has working holiday arrangements with Argentina, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden and the UK.
This means that young people who hold New Zealand passports can spend up to a year in any one of these countries. If you are a New Zealander and want to go on a working holiday, contact the nearest embassy or consulate of the country you are interested in, in New Zealand or Australia if the country has no mission in New Zealand. You'll find their addresses here. For the countries with which Australia also has a working holiday arrangement, you may find the information on our page Information for Australians Going on Working Holidays useful.
If you are a national of Argentina, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden or the UK, and you want to go on a working holiday to New Zealand, check the general requirements of the New Zealand scheme on the website of the New Zealand Immigration Service.
If you fulfil the requirements for the New Zealand Scheme, the next step is to talk to visa and consular section people at the New Zealand Embassy or Consulate in your home country. To find a complete list of New Zealand missions overseas, click here.
