E-mail Submission Template

NOTE: The JSCEM tabled its report on this Inquiry in Parliament on 23 June 2003 and the Inquiry is now closed. No further submissions are being accepted.

The Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters (JSCEM) leaves it to you identify the issues you would like to comment on, as long as they are within the terms of reference of the Inquiry. For this Inquiry, the terms of reference are very broad:

That the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters inquire into and report on all aspects of the conduct of the 2001 federal election and matters related thereto.

Some of the points you might like to consider in preparing your submission are listed in our Ideas for Your Submission. We suggest you print that page out and have it next to you as you compose your e-mail submission using the template below. Alternatively, download a pdf version of our Ideas for Your Submission and have it next to you at the computer.

The most important thing to remember is that the JSCEM needs to hear your personal story and your individual experiences with the electoral system as an overseas Australian.

If you require assistance in preparing your comments or would just like to chat with an SCG Committee Member about the issues involved, please feel free to contact our special Voting Submissions Helpline. The deadline for submissions is Friday, 5 July 2002.

It is a formal requirement when making a submission to a Parliamentary inquiry by e-mail that you provide your name, address, and telephone number. If you do not complete those fields in the template below, the system will not be able to send your submission. You should also include your e-mail address so that the system will be able to send you a copy of what you have sent for your records.

We have already addressed the submission and provided on opening paragraph to help you get started. However, please note that this is NOT a standard text or a form letter and what we have provided is not complete, so don't just press the Send Message button after filling in your personal details! Make sure you add in your own text under the opening paragraph outlining to the JSCEM your views and experiences.
