Griffith Review Issue 6 - Our Global Face
and
Australian Expats: stories from abroad

In October 2003, in conjunction with Australian publisher Global Exchange, we launched Australian Expats: stories from abroad. In November 2004, we were pleased to be associated with the publication of Issue 6 of the journal Griffith Review, entitled Our Global Face: Inside the Australian Diaspora. Both books are of broad interest to overseas Australians and others interested in the diaspora theme, and make excellent presents for friends and family.

If you are in the USA, Canada, the UK, or Continental Europe, these two titles can be purchased online directly from the Southern Cross Group. Buy both books together and save US$ 5 on the total cost of your order.

Our Global Face: Inside the Australian Diaspora
Griffith Review Issue 6

 griffith review: our global face

Published by Griffith University in conjunction with ABC Books, this special issue of Griffith Review is built around the theme of the Australian diaspora. It explores the issues surrounding who we are and how we still call Australia home, and features a piece by Southern Cross Group Co-founder Anne MacGregor about the SCG and the challenges of running a virtual lobbying organisation. Contributions are both fiction and non-fiction, encompassing essays, reviews, policy and poems, memoirs and photo reportage.

Australian Expats: stories from abroad

australian expats: stories from abroad book

In mid 2003 the Southern Cross Group went out to the Australian diaspora and asked people to "tell their stories". Almost 180 stories were received by the deadline, and 33 stories from 22 countries were selected for this unique volume, published by Global Exchange and the SCG. Many will strongly identify with these heart-warming tales of the expat experience. Read more about our 2003 Book Project on this page.
